I'm the turtle not the hare!

Just the other weekend, I was running (if you can call my slow jog...Almost speed walking pace running) in a race in Cola-town. The course itself was difficult and then add in my lack-of training, well it just wasn't pretty. However, I was running along a stretch where the weren't many people cheering nor was there anything to look at....Just the trees! As I started to round the corner, there was a young girl probably about 12 or 13 who was directing the runners which way they should go. Now this girl had been cheering for people in front of me, I heard her telling people to "keep going", "your almost done", "good job" etc.... Very positive things. Well, as I get closer I must have looked like I was crawling because of out this little sweet looking girl comes "slow and steady wins it"! Yep, directly to me! I looked around...NO ONE! Just me with the "slow and steady pace"! I must of have really been running...oops...jogging very slow! So, that was my motto through the last 4 miles.....slow and steady! Thanks to the young girl who gave me such inspiration towards the end of the race........well, I 'm sure there were many other things she could have yelled out and I am grateful she didn't! Maybe one day I'll be the hare......good thing there is always hope!

Paint on my eye lashes

I was "inspired" by a friend who has a blog to start one! Granted most of everyone I know lives within a 30 mile radius, I thought it would be neat to share with those in the 30 mile radius I never see and those outside a bit of my life. I read her blog often and find myself laughing in front of the computer~!! Good thing it's usually just me and maybe the husband and dog! So, you ask," how did you manage to get paint on your eye lashes?" Well, I have been doing updates to the home ever since I moved in 1 1/2 years ago! It was definitely a "boys" home! I guess I just got a little excited while rolling the walls. I went over to a friends and that's when they noticed I had paint on my eye lashes. Paint was pretty much all over - in my hair, eye lashes, finger nails ....you get the point! I am sure there will be more of "how did that happen" throughout the years to come because that seems to be the path I am on!
Just take my job for instance, I NEVER wanted to work with Eldery or do home visits. I wanted to work with psychiatric patients or children. And what do I do.......home visits with the elderly on a daily basis! But as I have found out it's not my will that is going to be done, it's HIS! I fine it quite amusing how I try to fight it at times! Well, I guess that's how I came up with the name! Thanks "friend" for the "inspiration"! Until next time..........la
